McKenna has lots of roller blade experience that translated very well to skiing. She had never skied before, but was very excited to be able to ski with her friends and family. McKenna told me that her family has chosen not to have a television or video games in their household. So I asked her if that meant she plays outside a lot. I was thrilled to hear her yes answer. This meant that she would be aware of how her body could move. She’s had practice jumping and twisting which of course translates into understanding movement patterns related to sliding around on slippery boards.
