Lots of "experts"
I’m amazed at the number of experts there are in social media marketing. Seems like everyone is trying to capitalize on the rapid growth of this sector. On the other hand I ran into a bunch of people at a party Saturday nite that seemed to despise social media. At both ends of the for/against spectrum though their seems to be passionate opinions.
Transparency/Authenticity
At a recent SMM discussion I attended in Las Vegas I think two of the most important attributes of successful social media “efforts” that came up are transparency and authenticity. People like real people. I’m thinking trust is vital in communities, electronic and physical.
Transparency can be real scary. It means you open yourself up to negative as well as positive comments. But if you’re truly authentic, and honest, and truly desire to do no harm to anyone, then I think there is no need for fear.
